Welding is a type of joint that is created in a physical process as a result of joining materials by local fusion and their bonding. This process is used to join metals, mainly steel and plastics. An indispensable factor in this process is a welding binder, i.e. an additional material that fuses with the parent material.
We distinguish the following welding methods:
- method 111, otherwise known as MMA: welding with coated electrodes. The most universal method, used in the repair and maintenance industry;
- MIG / MAG method: welding with a consumable electrode in the shield of inert gases MIG (marking 131) and active MAG (marking 135). Argon or helium are shielding gases used in MIG welding. Active shielding gases used in the MAG method are carbon dioxide or a mixture of carbon dioxide and argon. The MIG / MAG method is suitable for the vast majority of material welding and is easy to use;
- TIG method, designation 141: arc welding with a non-consumable tungsten electrode in the shield of inert gases, i.e. argon, helium or their mixtures. TIG is used for manual or automatic welding. Direct current is used for welding, and all types of steel are welded, mainly high-alloy steel and non-ferrous metals. In practice, the most common welding is aluminum and aluminum alloys using alternating current. Alternating current is used to obtain the highest possible quality of the weld;
- gas welding method 311-G: used for joining sheet metal with a thickness of 0.4 mm to 40 mm when burning acetylene at temperatures up to 3100 ° C;
- electric welding method: the method uses welding machines to weld metal sheets with a thickness of 1 mm to 80 mm.
There are many methods of welding. But the above-mentioned methods are most used in factories by welders. The welding methods also include electro-gas, electron, laser, hybrid, palm, slag or hydrogen-arc welding. Welding services are performed by welders who use the welding methods of their choice. In most welding plants, welding services are performed by welding robots, which receive the highest quality of welding.
