Each of us associates cardboard with brown or gray. It was like that in the old days. Now the cardboard packaging market has developed very strongly. The development of technology has allowed packaging manufacturers to produce cardboard boxes of various sizes, colors and structures. The packaging producer can use the following printing techniques:
- gravure printing: the printing areas are located below the non-printing areas, where the entire carton is covered with ink at a later stage. The ink is then removed from the non-printing areas with a squeegee. In the final stage, the ink left in the recesses is transferred to the printing substrate. This method is used for printing magazines, posters and albums. We distinguish between industrial and workshop rotogravure printing.
- stamping, i.e. dry plunger: the dies make three-dimensional embossing in cardboard boxes, which can be either a convex or a concave. Embossing creates a spatial effect. It gives the cardboard a new quality and elegant character.
- laminating: consists in wrapping a paper product with thin, printed or unprinted paper. This is to, inter alia, strengthening the paper product to external factors and damage. This method is used in the case of children’s books.
There are many techniques. The packaging producer adapts the printing techniques to a specific order. The packaging manufacturer will guarantee ecological and environmentally friendly printing techniques.
